June 2022 Market Update
Have you ever made a poor decision based on fear, only to learn of your mistake later?
One of the things I learned about helping people in water rescue is that, as painful as it may be, you must wait for a panicked person to drown before you can save them nearly. Their fear causes them to make poor decisions like grabbing their would-be rescuer and drowning them both!
I also learned that the more you understand something, the less afraid of it you are likely to be. Did you know that much of the fear we experience is simply because we fear the unknown? Have you ever waited for the outcome of a job interview and feared the worst? How about waiting for the college acceptance letter or the results of an important test?

May 2022 Market Update
Have you ever worried about something? I mean really worried about it as it kept you up at night. I know I have. I often do, even though I know logically that worrying about a thing does not change things. This is the human condition. We worry, and sometimes that worry pushes us to act even when doing so is not in our best interests.
When I graduated college, the United States was in a recession. A new grad with a business degree could not find a job. I worried I would never be able to provide for my new wife, who had a sign-on bonus and a job before she graduated as a registered nurse. I scrambled, found odd jobs and part-time jobs, and even took what I knew would be a lousy job. Taking that job wasted valuable time and resources, but I felt I had to “Do Something.”
April 2022 Market Update
Henry Ford said in his memoirs that you could purchase a Model T in any color as long as it was black! Most think this was the only color or the cheapest color that would work within his new, innovative mass production facility that contributed significantly to the Roaring 2020s. There is some truth to both theories, but the real reason was that the black paint dried about four hours faster than any other color, and he could produce and sell more cars more quickly. Also, keep in mind that Mr. Ford began his innovative endeavors in earnest just after the Spanish Flu Pandemic and post-WWI recession.

February 2022 Market Update
I imagine some of you remember back to your school days. There was always that guy or gal that just had to pick on other people. The bully on the playground. Maybe you were a victim of this behavior at some point. It is a horrible feeling. That bully typically is much bigger or has a group that provides an overwhelming force, and you feel helpless. Unfortunately, we witnessed this first with Georgia, then Crimea, and now Ukraine. What is happening will impact the global economy so that all of us will feel some of the pain.
This month we will discuss:
